STAFF EDUCATION

The whiskey consumption is booming in the US and in the meantime, customers are becoming more savvy or more curious about this brown spirit.

At the bar, knowing whiskey can help you increase your profit and your customer satisfaction, add extra value to the interaction and create attraction and retention:

WHISKY AMBASSADOR

Full day on site

This is the World’s first accredited Whisky training Program

Aim: be knowledgeable about whiskey, attract and retain customers, develop your whiskey offer

Program:

  • Enjoying whisk(e)y, and its principles
  • Whisky by numbers, history, geography
  • Production: from raw material to bottle
  • Nosing and tasting principles – practice on 6 Scotch single malt whiskies
  • Mixers and cocktails, principles of refining your whisky offer
  • Whiskies of the world, focus on the 8 main Japanese distilleries

Informations

A training manual is sent in advance to allow attendees to come prepared and better benefit from the course.

A knowledge and a practical test will be administered at the end of the day

Successful candidates receive a certificate and a Whisky Ambassador pin

The facility can become “Whisky Ambassador certified” and be placed on the worldwide Whisky Ambassador map upon certain conditions.

We also conduct training on Cognac and Gin.

ANIMATION ON-SITE

We can entertain tasting sessions with your customers: fun, educative, interactive

We can conduct masterclasses on a given theme (Scotch whisky, Bourbon, Japanese whisky, Cognac, Gin,…), offering a more educative content

We can entertain food and whisky pairing sessions, teaching customers about the beautiful art of pairing and illustrating it with your menu.

PAIRING YOUR FOOD MENU TO WHISKIES

The whiskey and food pairing is a delicate and unknown art that amazes many customer palates.

We have accumulated a 13-year experience of whiskey and food pairing, combining the knowledge, experience and refined palates of our Chef and our whiskey expert.

We can pair your menu with whiskies to enhance the offer at your facility.

We work in three steps:

 1. First meeting at your facility with your chef. The aim is to learn the composition of the menu items

 2. Then, our Whisky Gourmet Team will meet and select the menu items that have a pairing potential, and list some whiskey candidates for each item

 3. Second meeting at your facility. We bring all the whiskey candidates (and we can also work with your whiskey selection) and start the evaluation. Each selected menu item is evaluated along with the whiskey candidates. When a pair is found, your chef and management are invited to try and provide their own evaluation. We continue with the other food items

This pairing art is very delicate and it is impossible to predict the number of “working pairs” we will identify. In our experience, it goes from four to nine in one session.

You can use the pairs as new refined items on your menu, or have whiskey and food dinner sessions that we can entertain.

WHISKEY MENU CREATION or REFINMENT

We can establish your whiskey menu from scratch.

We will need to understand your needs, and will provide a menu proposal accordingly.

We can also propose the refinment of your existing menu, based on your needs.

Your whisky expert

Franck has acquired a deep whiskey knowledge from years of practice. He is Whiskey Ambassador Tutor of Scotland and IBD* certified for the Fundamentals of Distilling. He has visited more than 160 distilleries on four continents and further developed his insights through discussions with many Master Distillers.

He has trainined or entertained more than 6,000 people to date and is acclaimed for his effective, interactive and fun approach.

His permanent interactions with bartenders has provided him with a deep understanding on how to maximize the whiskey offer at the bar. He will guide you on a journey at your pace based on your needs with the aim of increasing:

  • Your level of comfort managing the Whiskey experience at your bar
  • Customer satisfaction
  • Your profit.
