Whisk(e)y

Whisk(e)y is an incredible spirit consummed everywhere is the world, and that is offering the highest level of diversity.

It is made from a fermented mash, itself made of grains, which is distilled, and then diluted and matured. The most commonly used grains in the whisk(e)y industry are barley, corn, rye and wheat.

The legal definitions of whiskies are country-specific from where the majority of whiskies are produced:

  • Scotland: Scotch whisky
  • Ireland: Irish Whiskey
  • USA: Bourbon, Rye whiskey, Wheat whiskey, Corn Whiskey, American whiskey, American Single Malt
  • Japan: Japanese whisky
  • Canada: Canadian whisky
  • France: Alsace whisky, Breton whisky

The whiskies are classified in categories based on the type of grains used and on the number of distilleries involved in its production.
