American whiskey is becoming more and more popular: Bourbon, Rye, Wheat, Corn whiskey, Single Malt, all coming in various finishes and bottling. This trend is actually seen worldwide and this boom is so big that whiskey has come to dominate the drinks world. No complaint at all: the more customers enjoy whiskey, the more this stimulates the makers to improve the quality and increase its diversity. And so this happens. In this growing arena, how to find the best whiskies? Let’s ask the experts! Every year, a panel of judges, chaired by Steve Beal, assesses the latest releases through a long and tedious process ensuring complete fairness. Tonight were announced the 2019 results in New York City during a ceremony chaired by Steve Beal.

The frequent  temperature changes help quite a bit for the interaction between the wood and the spirit, and allows a faster aging.

Special mention for the Bainbridge distillery who got three whiskies awarded tonight, and their proud and busy Head distiller, Kevin Barrans.

Bainbridge Organic Distillers was founded as a family business in 2009, and since the beginning they perform every task in the making of distilled spirits on site, and with their own hands. From the selection of grain varieties and lots, to grinding, mashing, fermenting and distillation they are proud to be hands-on at every stage in the small-batch spirits production process.

They were Washington State’s first distillery producing USDA Certified Organic spirits, and still are the state’s only distillery producing 100% of its organic spirits from scratch, on site in their  own distillery.

No wonder why they have accumulated so many awards!
